Foodie Adventure. (Brownies, Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice, Roti Prata @ Jalan Kayu) 01 October 2013


The other day, over @ Amirul's house, his mum was so kind and to make us some food and his Brownies are to die for! He has been making Brownies since the Secondary School days and I'm totally in love with his Brownies. However, this time round he made it like... Chewy Fudge Brownies.

Was craving for some good Chicken Rice and my parents plus Cindi suggested WEE NAM KEE CHICKEN RICE @ United Square. I've read on the papers that it is good and their old shop (along Thomson Road) was closing. I've thought of going there to try before they close down, but I guess I got lazy. (HAHAHA, OOPPS) Then, I heard it opened @ United Square!! (: 

Yes, we had to queue for awhile and the entire restaurant was too noisy. 


I have to agree that this is one of the best Chicken Rice I've tasted. It's a must try! Plus their chili is really really spicy and ginger is so fragrant, it's really rare to find chicken rice stalls that provides ginger. 


Finally had the chance to try the famous Jalan Kayu Roti Prata, Thasevi Food.  


I have to say that it is kind of overrated, their prata tastes just like any ordinary prata. Their prata is a little pricey. $1.80 for an egg Prata. 80 cents extra just for an egg. (What if I bring my own tray of eggs to the prata shop, I would definitely save up some money.)

Mum and I then made Cupcakes. We were suppose to make BLUE Velvet cupcakes as we only had Blue dye @ home and forgot to get some Red food colouring. Who knew, we added too little Blue dye thus it ended up being Matcha-Green-ish colour. (HHAHAHAH OH GOD) To add on, the Cream Cheese frosting was kind of a failure. ): 

Despite the colour and frosting mishap, the cupcakes tastes really really good and its our first time making Velvet Cupcakes. I gave a few to our friendly neighbour and they told us that it tasted great. (:

Do go try Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice and Jalan Kayu's Famous Prata.
